Loon and Toon

Loon and Toon and two “perfect” blasts are now hopefully scoping out the place where they are going to hang out and grow for the next while.

Dear Little Loon and Toon,

Please stick around. There are all sorts of goodies to be had if  you stick around. I promised to sing you both songs, read books, rub your feet, and any other thing that will make you feel at home. We love you so so so much already and hope that you both decide to enjoy an extended stay with us. We are really fun and laugh alot and will love you lots and lots.

It’s Time?!

The time has come. Tomorrow at 12noon I hope to be transferring a beautiful embie (or two) where we will then put up a no vacancy sign for the next few months. I have 48 hours of bed rest and then light activity until beta.

Its getting close

We are almost there. We are set up for a 5dt transfer on wed. What I have learned this cycle is that I work much better if I concentrate better using little steps. Here’s how this IVF has gone:

Supression Check – check

Stimulation – check

Egg Retrieval – check
*15 eggs retrieved, 11 look good

Fertilization – check
*10 fertilize normally

Embryo Development
*Day 3 – 2 8 cell grade 4
              1 8 cell grade 3
              2 9 cell
              1 10 cell
              1 6 cell grade 4
              1 4 cell grade 3

Embryo Transfer

1dpt – Embryo is growing and developing
2dpt – Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt – Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt -  Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt – Implantation begins as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt – Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt – Morula is completely implanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
            fetal cells
8dpt – Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt – More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt – More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt – HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

ER

Egg retrieval was this morning bright and early. According to my husband, I was a hoot when coming out of anesthesia.

Here’s the story – The anesthesiologists and nurse I had were pretty funny which put
everyone in a relaxed mood. The aneth kept joking that he was a great bartender and that
he would give me a good cocktail before the procedure. And apparently the cocktail was really
pretty good because Hubby says I was a hoot when returning to my room. I was saying stuff like
“this s$#t is good” and “give that guy $100 plus tip” hand gestures and all. Also when doing
the pulse ox I would point it up and say “ET phone home” lol Hubby is still laughing about
it now. I have always been a funny drunk lol 

 It was his entertainment of the day and he is still laughing about it.

For the results:   15 eggs retrieved, 11 looked mature enough (1 over mature and 3 immature). Him’s sample looked good enough to not need ICSI.

Now just waiting until tomorrows call. I go through times of worry and then times of peace. When I was doing the shots, I at least felt like I was doing my part and now that is gone. I know that I have no control over this part (not that I ever did), its in Gods hands. As it has always been and will always be.

So God just in case you are listening please please make us some babies. Have them grow strong and watch over them as you watch over us. Let them grow on this earth as they have already grown in our hearts.  Please give our hearts the strength and peace to accept whatever the results may be.

“Its my birthday…

and I’ll cry if I want to”.  Not really crying over here just yet. I had an awesome birthday today. I work in a really good place and my staff got me some gifts and a cake. Him send me some flowers at work and then we went out to dinner.  It was a very low key and relaxing day.

Which was very much needed because we are heading of to retrieval tomorrow at 6 (yes thats in the am lol).

At this point, I will take any prayers, good thoughts, vibes and anything else that will give us a basket full of eggs and great embies.

Who would have thought

Today we bought something I never ever thought we would have in this house. We bought a video game system, specifically we bough the Wii. I love it!!! I am not a big fan of video game partly because I suck and partly because I think it limits physical activity. Well the Wii is different. Him has been wanting it for a while and I kept going back and forth on it but today I actually played it for a little while at our family barbecue and really liked it.

 Anyway I really like the game and see more Wii playing in my future. Although we do need to go out and get an extra controller for head to head challenges lol.

Chugging Along

Just chugging along over here. I’ve had two u/s and bloodwork appts this week and things are progressing slowly but surely. This morning I had a few 10-12s on each side with an estrogen of 367 so I still have a ways to go. The lining looks good at 8.9 and a triple pattern. I think we are looking at an egg retrieval late next week. Its getting a little hectic over here with all the appts and work and stuff.
